Design Studio Project 1: Famous People, Familiar Faces Diagrammatic Abstraction
In this project, we are required to refer to a particular famous architect's building and form 10 conceptual models. Our group consists of 4 members for this project. We are assigned to form 10 conceptual models and drawings as well as edit a video for this particular project. We are given the reference of brick country house designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This building is unbuilt and what makes it so special is because of its materials, the entire building is made of bricks, besides it also has long overhang walls which extended out of the building. This actually connects the interior and exterior and allows the interaction between the house and the environment.
Throughout this project, we are given an opportunity to analyse and diagram the brick country house designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in detail. It allows us to understand well about the compositions of lines, planes, solids and frames. By analysing their architectural work, we basically transform the concept of the brick country house into models.

Design Studio Project 2A: SITE CONDITION & ANALYSIS AND BIRDWATCH TOWER @ FRASER'S HILL
In this project, we are given a chance to site visit Fraser's Hill, to be fair it was quite an interesting experience as we allowed to go for a study trip with friends. Besides, the weather there is quite cooling and refreshing compare to KL area.
We are assigned to conduct our site analysis based on 2 sites, Allan's Water and Paddock, while my group are assigned into the Allan's Water. Allan's Water basically is surrounded by forest and the condition in that area is wet and humid. It was quite challenging as we are required to walk the path around the lake and while conducting our site analysis.
Our group are doing the climate part of the site analysis:
For the following project, we are assigned into groups of 2 to design a birdwatch tower for our respective client. For our group, our client is Toyo Ito, a famous Japanese Architect. We are required to choose the best spot for our birdwatch tower based on the site analysis report conducted previously. As a result, we used our conceptual model and combining Toyo Ito architectural style to design our bird watch tower which suits Toyo Ito the best.

Design Studio Project 2B: CHILDREN DORMITORY
In this project, we are different from other tutorial group, we are not designing retreat house at Fraser's Hill, we are assigned to design a new dormitory for the orang asli children in Tras Raub, Pahang. It was quite an exciting experience for me to visit the SEMOA children home because it allows me to experience their lifestyle and their living condition. The children in the home are charming and friendly.
After the site visit, we are required to compile a site analysis report individually and design a children dormitory. There are quite a few limitation for example the budget, space efficiency as well as suitability for orang asli children in terms of room scale, furniture and materials.
Overall, I have leant that the importance of site analysis as it allows me to design a dormitory which can fully utilize the advantages of the site. Moreover, I have learnt the need to adjust the room and furniture scale in order to achieve maximum space saving and space efficiency, for example uses multi-functional furniture or combining spaces like study and sleeping spaces.
