WORK IN PROGRESS (WIP)
PROJECT 2B: BUILDING DOCUMENTATION (40%)
- FLOOR PLANS
- TITLE BLOCK
- ROOF PLAN
- SECTIONS
- ISOMETRIC VIEWS (AXONOMETRIC)
- DOOR & WINDOW TAGGING
- FURNITURE LAYOUT PLAN
- SCHEDULES
New Sheets is created to insert the 'Taylor's University' Title Block. Duplicate views for plans, elevations, sections, isometrics and details.
'Room' is used to label with area all the interior spaces including 'Balcony' on all the floors.
The colour of the spaces are generated using 'Annotate' - 'Colour Fill' and the colour of the spaces are adjusted using 'Edit Scheme'.
Crop view is enabled to adjust the views using the box-a-like 'Crop Region'
In the 'Type Properties' window, the 'Underlay' is changed to 'None' to hide the lines of the lower levels. The detail level is then changed to 'Medium' to fulfill LOD 200.
'Detail line' is used to draw the outline of the wall and the 'Masking Region' is used to draw the pitch arrow.
The Line Style '<Hidden>' to obtain the 'dash line' as shown in the roof plan on the right.
'Section Line' is placed on the ground floor plan.
Split segment can be applied to the section line to modify the section cutting.
'Room Tag' is placed on the section view in order to label the interior spaces.
For each 'Section' view, 'Cut Profile' is used to connecting the piling to the wall or floor. This effect is view specific and it won't affect the model itself or other views.
'Annotate - Masking' is used to sketch the hidden pad-footing in the 'Section View'.
'Manage - Additional Settings - Line Patterns' is used to generate the dash line spacing of the masking region.
Duplicate a '3D-View' and rename it to 'Exploded View'. Select the element and assemble the Axonometric using 'Modify - Displace Element'.
'Manage - Additional Settings - Line Style' is used to create a new Line Style.
All the wall, windows and curtain wall are tagged using 'Annotate - Tag by Category'.
Duplicate 'Ground Floor' And rename it 'Ground Floor Furniture Layout'. Then, start placing the furniture on the plan.

- DOOR & WINDOW LEGEND
- SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE
- TOPOGRAPHY - SITE CONTEXT
- PHASING
Proceed to 'Filter' to create new 'Furniture Layout' and select only 'Furniture'.
Proceed to 'Visibility/Graphics' to adjust the 'Line' to specific colours in order to change colour of the furniture on the plan views.
All the furniture components will be displayed in red.
Schedule is created using 'View - Schedule'. For the schedule properties, add Type, Level, Count, Height, Width and Mark.
The 'Sorting/Grouping' is sorted as shown on the right.
The 'Properties' is adjusted as shown on the right.
The Door Schedule is then generated.
The Door Schedule is then generated in the same method.
For the 'Furniture Schedule Properties', add 'Type, Level and Count' to the fields.
The Furniture Schedule is then generated.
For the 'Room Schedule Properties', add 'Room, Area and Level' to the fields.
The Room Schedule is then generated.
Door & Window Legends is generated through 'View -Legend'. The Doors and Windows are drag-drop from 'Project Browser - Families'. The table is drawn using 'Detail Line'.
The camera is placed on the Ground Floor Plan through 'View - 3D View - Camera'.
A perspective view of the building is generated.
Under the 'View Properties' tab, the 'Section Box' is ticked and a 3D Box-a-like line will appear.
On the Ground Floor Plan View, adjust the section box to cut throught to floor plan.
A sectional perspective is then generated.
The topography is generated using under the 'Site' view tab. The tree is then placed on the site. The black dots are used to adjust the height of the contour itself.
The Site Plan is then generated.
Generate 3 views each (Existing, Demolish & New Construction) for plans and 3D views.
Eliminate unnecessary element by hiding the room tag and legend as well as the component tagging.
In the 'Phases' tab, add the 'Existing, Demolish and New Construction' after all the phases in the 'Project Phases' tab.
In the 'Phase Filter' tab, follow the settings as shown on the right.
In the 'Graphics Overrides' tab, follow the settings as shown on the right.
In the 'Existing' tab, follow the settings as shown on the right.
In the 'Existing' tab, highlight the wall to be demolished and follow the settings on the right.
In the 'Demolish' tab, follow the settings as shown on the right.
In the 'Demolish' tab, highlight the wall to be demolished and follow the settings on the right.
In the 'New Construction' tab, apply the modification and follow settings on the right.
In the 'New Construction' tab, highlight the wall and apply the settings on the right.
In the 'Existing' tab of the 3D view, follow the settings on the right to show the different phasing of the building.
In the 'Demolish' tab of the 3D view, follow the settings on the right to show the different phasing of the building.
In the 'New Construction' tab of the 3D view, follow the settings on the right to show the different phasing of the building.
