Project 1:  Experiencing Construction: Experiencing, documentation and analysing CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

In this assignment, I have been taught about the basic principles and procedures of construction process of a 3-storey bungalow through real life project. Besides, through this project, I also understand the sequence as well as coordinatiion of construction at site. Moreover, I also know more about the material, construction and technology  of the construction process. Last but not least, I was able to present what I understood from the construction process into variety of sketches, drawings as well as labelling them in a right way.

Overall, I have learned alot in this project both in terms of building construction knowledge as well as in terms of team building. Firstly, in this project, we are assigned in a group of 8, thats quite alot of group members for me and it does worry me if there is some problem in terms of communication. However, I was able to group up with my close friends, and in the end we were in a group of 7 due to some internal changes. Everything went smoothly as we were able to work together as a team. We visited a construction site under Mahsing which I felt that we learned alot from there as the instructor was well-knowledge on everything about construction. Basically, It was a wonderful memories yet challenging assignment for me as I was able to spend time with my close friends visiting the construction (first time in my life) under the hot sun at the same time trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible from the instructor. After several site visit to the construction, we started our report for a 3-storey bungalow. We divided our job and everything just worked like a charm. In my opinion, the process of this project had my best memories, which I will never forget.

Below are some of the photos of our site visit:

Project 2: Construction Activities and Process (Individual)

In this project, I have learnt the basic principles and procedures of construction as well as the sequence and coordination at site. Moreover, I have learnt more about the technical knowledge of the construction process such as the workers needed, the period required as well as materials needed to complete every part of the bungalow.

In this project, we are required to document the construction process of a 3-storey bungalow into a report. In this report, we were given a choice to hand-drawn the required details and process of the construction or use AUTODESK REVIT to show the construction process. As a result, I decide to use Autodesk Revit as it saves me plenty of time and my drawing skills were below-par compared to my classmates. To be honest, I felt that the first project and this project did have some overlapping part. This is because in both project, I felt that I was learning the same construction process, but presenting it in different way and this project seems to be much more easier. However, It does improve my 'REVIT' skills drastically as I was forced to master it before starting this project. Overall, I felt that I did learn alot of construction process from this project but compared to the first project, I felt that the first project has improved me more in terms of construction knowledge.
